Public transportation to the south
Y'know, if Portland can do this, why can't Seattle? It's just down the road from here after all so it's not even a great trial for our city planners to wander down and check it out.
Maybe they're too busy giving out corporate welfare to our sports teams?
And while we're on the subject, why is the only major coverage of this coming from across the pond via the BBC?

Those numbers are incredible! I'm gonna send this to all the politicians I can think of up here. Only problem I can see is that they'll take one look at it and shriek: "Eek! We can't do this! It's an American idea!"
Then they'll spend millions of dollars (you think I'm kidding?) doing a study on how to improve the local transit congestion, but doing it the Canadian way. And about ten years from now, we'll end up with a transit system that, once you get into it, you can't get off it. Kinda like Charlie and the MTA.
But then, when you've got public transport officials who are not only not elected, but who also state publicly that they are "too important" to use the public transport system they oversee...what can we expect?
