Snake Suspenderz at the Gage Drawing Jam on 12/07/19

Some or all of the mighty Snakez have played the Gage Drawing Jam since before it was Gage Academy of Art. In fact, we found our long-time drummer, Andrew Hare (now, sadly deceased) playing this very gig.

This year we’re going back to our roots, with just Thaddeus and I holding down the fort. Think of it as “Snake Suspenderz Classic and you won’t be too far off.

The Drawing Jam runs from 9am to 6pm, and we’ll be jamming in room 200, where there are live models (of the nude persuasion) for you to sketch. We’ll be on from 1pm til 3pm.

There’s plenty of other choices at the drawing jam, from still lifes to costumed models to working in other mediums despite being called the “drawing” jam.

Stop by and say hi!

Snake Suspenderz at the Moisture Festival on 03/23/19

It’s the 16th Annual Moisture Festival and we’ve been invited back for a couple of the late shows. Since the late shows are more adult-oriented we may even blow the dust off some of our naughty tunes. Come check out the show. You’ll have a blast, I guarantee it!

Snake Suspenderz plays a Music in the Mini Park concert on 08/01/18

Snake Suspenderz will be playing week 8 of 10 in the 4th Annual Lake City Music in the Mini Park concert series.

The park itself is at 125th and Lake City Way, right near the library and where they hold the Lake City Farmer’s Market. It’s easy to get there by bus, I used to busk at that Farmer’s Market quite a bit.

While I can’t guarantee there’ll be no changes, as of this time the line-up looks like this. (I’ve included links where I could find them.)

  • June 13 – Jump Ensemble – contemporary jazz
  • June 20 – Gansango – West African drumming
  • June 27 – Ana Morales & Flamenco Danzarte – Flamenco dance & percussion
  • July 4 – The Gumbo Twins – rockin’ Cajun & Zydeco soul
  • July 11 – Ballet Folklorico – Mexican folk dance
  • July 18 – Orkestyr Farfeleh – not (just) your Bubba’s Klezmer
  • July 25 – Honky Tonk Sweethearts – vintage country, western swing, rockabilly

Accidental Rhino returns to the Brothel! 03/11/18

That’s right, once again there’s going to be an Accidental Rhino trio at The Poetry Brothel!

It’s their Dada Tour, channeling the spirit of the Cabaret Voltaire. There are two shows, one at 7:30pm and one at 10:30pm. Doors open at 7pm and 10pm respectively.

There will be poets, musicians, burlesque (and/or sirlesque), magicians, tarot readers, artists, and all manner of fin-de-siècle nightlife.

Accidental Rhino, in keeping with its ad hoc status, will be a slightly different trio than pictured above. You’ll just have to be there to see what the change(s) are.

Or you can remain hopelessly cubical.
